Sponsored by the Founder of the “AFRICKIKO FOUNDATION” in the Person of Mr WANAMBOWA Simon AYUMPE, this Soccer Tournament that Started on Friday 08/04/22 was piloted by a Three Man Organization Committee and it was composed of six (06) football clubs namely;
- SAO FC/Chad,
- PH FC,
- Ecole De Post Brothers FC,
- TITANS FC,
- DRIVERS FC,
- Association des Jeunes de Ngoa-ekele FC.
All these teams were partitioned into two (02) poles of three (03) teams each. Following the different preparatory meetings held between the Sponsor, the Organization Committee Members and Representatives of all the Six (06) teams, practical modalities guiding the Tournament were unanimously accepted by all, thus paving the way for the Opening Game that Involved;
- SAO FC of Chad V/S
- PH FC.
The opening game witnessed much ambiance and animation from all participating teams and was graced with the presence of the Cup Donor who did the official quick off in the presence of an avalanche of High Placed Personalities who came from within and out of Yaounde to witness the game.
After more than two weeks of intensive play, with each team playing two matches in the league face, and the first two teams of each pole qualifying directly for the Semi Finals Games, played at Home and Away, the finals of the Tournament was played on Friday 22/04/22, coincidentally involving both teams that played the opening game. At the end of the finals, PH FC emerged Champions and a RENDEZVOUS was taken for the Second Edition pending prior confirmation from the Founder of AFRICKIKO FOUNDATION. In his closing remark speech, he expressed the will to extend and enlarge the Tournament to more than Twenty Four (24) Teams. The Closing ceremony of the finals was once again graced with the presence of the sponsor and popular Cameroonian music artists like Blaise B and other personalities of the soccer domain.
It should be stated here that Participation Fees in this Tournament was free and no expenditure was labeled on these teams as everything was provided for by the sponsor.
